Fall River Elks Lodge donates $2,000 to camp for kids with diabetes

Fall River – On Friday June 11th, members of Fall River Elks Lodge No. 118 donated a check for $ 2,000 to the Jack Rua Camp for Children with Diabetes in memory of longtime lodge member Jeffrey Santos.

Accompanied by other moose, the exalted ruler of Lodge No. 118 Steve Frank and Santos’ wife Janice presented the donation to Megan Stirk, President and CEO of People Incorporated.

“The activities and medical support we offer at Camp Jack are made possible through fundraising and community contributions. This donation in memory of Mr Santos is particularly significant. We are deeply grateful to the elks of Lodge No. 118 for their efforts to raise these funds, ”she said.

Camp Jack is a program operated by the Diabetes Association, Inc., a subsidiary of People Incorporated. Camp Jack is located on the grounds of the Boys & Girls Club of Fall River’s Camp Welch in Assonet and cares for children with type 1 diabetes together with their siblings and friends and operates for six weeks from July to August.
