Hammond – Diabetes can increase your risk of developing eye diseases, but according to the American Diabetes Association, 95% of diabetes-related eye diseases are preventable. Even if you or someone you know has had vision loss from diabetes, it’s never too late to make positive changes, a press release said.

Visit Addie Smith, Optometrist, North Oaks Eye Care Clinic, on June 15 at 3:00 p.m. to learn about diabetes-related eye conditions and vision maintenance at a free group meeting sponsored by North Oaks Diabetes Education. The meeting will be held at the North Oaks Diagnostic Center, 15837 Paul Vega, MD, Drive, Hammond. During the meeting, the COVID-19 safety measures that apply to health care facilities as set out by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the state of Louisiana will apply.
