Alton Memorial Hospital runs a monthly virtual diabetes support group.
The group meets every last Tuesday of the month from 12 noon to 12.45 p.m. and provides educational and emotional support to patients with diabetes and family members. Anyone interested in attending should send an email address to AMH’s Diabetes Management Center. Call (618) 463-7526 or (618) 463-7742 and speak to Kristin Cloninger, Kathleen Ridenhour, or Naomi Ward. Zoom appointments will be emailed the Monday before the meeting.
The Diabetes Management Center continues to view patients for nutrition and diabetes education visits as telemedicine visits. Patients must receive a referral from a doctor for these visits. When making an appointment, patients have the option of coming to visit or of carrying out the visit via Zoom.
