In time for July UV Safety Awareness Month, North Kansas City Hospital is hosting on Tuesday, July 13, from 6:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Gladstone Community Center, 6901 N. Holmes St.

“From sunscreen to sunglasses, get tips on protecting your skin so you can maximize your fun in the sun. You will also learn more about the ABCDE of skin cancer, how to do a skin self-assessment and when to see a doctor about a mole, ”a statement said.

The event is free of charge, but registration is required.

On Wednesday, July 14th, there will be a virtual diabetes course from 5.30 p.m. to 6.30 p.m.

“Diabetes can be difficult to treat. Learn the do’s and don’ts of controlling your glucose levels and get some tips on building healthier habits, ”said a press release from the NKC hospital.

The event is free of charge, but registration is required.

Another virtual course on heartburn will be offered on Tuesday, July 20, from 12pm to 1pm.

“Under the direction of Laura Habighorst, a certified gastroenterology nurse, you will have an open discussion with us about the most common causes of acid reflux and effective treatment options,” said a press release.
