The UK Wide Cycle Ride Challenge runs throughout April and is the perfect opportunity for people of Southampton to improve their fitness while raising funds for Diabetes UK.

Challengers can choose from one of five virtual distances, ranging from 120 miles for beginners to 950 miles for experienced cyclists, and have all month to increase mileage.

Cycling is a great way to get fit, healthy, have fun, and set a goal.

And with spring on the way bringing brighter evenings and warmer weather, this challenge comes at the perfect time for anyone looking to saddle up and try it out.

You can cycle the miles however you want over the 30 days of April by enjoying the great outdoors or staying at home and using an exercise bike.

Or you can do a bit of both.

However, please always pay attention to the coronavirus restrictions in your region while participating.

Participants will have their own fundraising profile page and can join a Facebook group where challengers can discuss their progress and share tips.

There are donation incentives where anyone who collects £ 35 or more will receive a medal.

Diabetes UK neck warmers and cycling jerseys are available to anyone who collects £ 250 and £ 500 respectively.

There is no registration fee and no minimum sponsorship.

Demand for our services has reached unprecedented levels over the past year and we continue to fight for our goal of a world where diabetes cannot cause harm.

People with diabetes need us now, and so we need your support to continue this fight.

So sign up for the UK Wide Cycle Ride at cycle.diabetes.org.uk and pedal to make every mile count.
