With San Francisco’s official entry into the orange category, gyms and boutique gyms with a capacity of 25 percent can reopen for indoor workouts.

The studios that teach everything from heated yoga to weight lifting are more than finished. So if you’ve been long past zoom workouts and tired of freezing during outdoor sweats, wear your most breathable mask for a small, socially distant class at one of these local studios.

MNTStudio

MNTStudio’s SF location is open for 50-minute, multilevel Pilates classes in which a maximum of three customers listen to optimistic music at the same time. You can also book private sessions at the SF and Palo Alto locations, or stay at home with Zoom classes from Barre to Pilates Bootcamp. Orange theory

Orange Theory’s mid-market studio is offering two new types of sessions: Lift 45 and OT Open. Resistance training, heavy lifting, and floor work help build muscle mass and improve shape in Lift 45 sessions for the entire, upper, and lower body. In OT Open, you can do your own thing (under the supervision of the trainer) on a treadmill or rowing machine. Karma yoga

Sweat it out in Karma Yoga ‘s heated marina studio. Pilates, yoga and high-intensity interval training come together in Hot HIIT Flow, a 45- or 60-minute course with a room temperature of 95 degrees. Project 13 Gyms offers indoor group workouts for up to five people, as well as an open gym for members. After a temperature test, each hour-long class begins with a hip flow sequence, followed by a strength or conditioning session, and finally with a mobility cool-down.
