WATERTOWN, NY (WWTI) – A man was arrested in Watertown this morning after making terrorist threats in two locations.
Michael J. Tweedy, 30, was arrested by the Watertown City Police Department this morning after investigating two bomb threats on June 25, 2021.
According to Watertown Police Detective Lt. Joseph R. Donoghue, Sr., Tweedy made threats in two different locations. These included Planet Fitness at 1222 Arsenal Street and Skyline Apartments at 454 Mill Street, both in Watertown.
These threats result in several people being evacuated over an extended period of time while Fort Drum K (bomb detection dogs search both buildings.
Subsequently, Tweedy was charged in two cases under the New York State Penal Law 490.20 sub 1 of making a terrorist threat, a Class D crime.
Tweedy is being held at the Watertown City Police Station pending indictment.
