Native health teacher pronounces free lessons for veterans

TOPEKA (KSNT) – Shockwave Aqua Fitness is now offering free classes every Wednesday for those who have served.

The 45-minute water-based courses are designed for all ages, bodies and abilities. The courses are currently taking place in the Hummer Auditorium. There are two different sessions, one starts at 10 a.m. and the other starts at 6:30 p.m.

All veterans need to do to take advantage of the free lessons is provide a military ID.

“I have family and friends who have served in the military.” Shockwave Aqua Fitness owner Sharlie Peterson said. “Veterans are very special to me. I just wanted to do something good for them and the community. ”

For non-veterans interested in the program, drop-in tuition is $ 5. For Topeka Public Schools employees, the cost is $ 501 and the cost is $ 2.50.
