After being abused and sexually abused in high school as a 5-year-old, Leah Hantman went down a dark path that eventually led to her developing an eating disorder.

“I couldn’t train. I had nightmares every night. I couldn’t eat. My nervous system was a mess, ”Hantman recalled.

Eventually Hantman started running and found CrossFit, and the combination of the two “saved my life,” she explained. “Lifting weights was so grounding for the nervous and it (helped me) gain strength that translates into other areas of life,” she added.
