Furuhashi did not feature in the 2-0 win over Hibs, underscored by a goal from debutants Daizen Maeda, and the Cetic boss admitted he will not be featured this month. A fact that means he won’t be selected for Japan’s World Cup qualifiers in late January/early February.
“You can tell he hasn’t recovered from his injury yet,” Postecoglou said on the radio after his side’s most recent win, Furuhashi having to be substituted on Boxing Day within 15 minutes of Celtic’s 3-1 away win at St Johnstone . “We’re still getting some advice on that. He probably won’t be seen in the next few weeks, it might take longer. We’re getting more information on specific time frames right now and hopefully we’ll know a bit more as the week goes on.”
