A woman says she caught a man trying to get her dressed in a Planet Fitness locker room in Pearland, TX.
Laura Cubias tells Fox 26 that she heard the alleged “Spit Tom” in the cabin next to her when she showered in the woman’s locker room on Wednesday.
“It’s really scary to know that while I was showering another man was sitting in a cubicle right next to my shower,” she says.

Then she quickly dressed in her booth before the stranger held up a lighter. He proceeded to slide his cell phone under the box that was pointed up at them to pick up Cubias.
“I froze for a second. I was in shock,” Cubias told Fox 26.
When she was dressed, she heard the voice of a man who came out of the standing and said, “He’s sorry.” When the man hurried out, she was able to take pictures of him.
“I don’t know if he was just trying to attack me physically. I have a feeling that he was trying to see if he can,” said Cubias.

When the alleged “Spit Tom” came outside, his actions were questioned by another woman, avoiding answering why he was in the woman’s locker room. Instead, he responds by saying that he is being called “all the time”.
Pearland Police spoke to the man outside the gym. While they claim they haven’t found anything on his phone to prove the allegations are true, they are looking for a search warrant for deleted messages on the man’s phone.
Cubias describes how he was “pretty scared” about the incident.
“I’m afraid of being alone in public.”

According to a Planet Fitness spokesperson, the suspect was a guest of another member and both were “banned from Planet Fitness”.
“At Planet Fitness, the safety of our employees and members is a top priority,” said a Planet Fitness spokesman. “We are aware of the incident at the Pearland site and take these matters very seriously.”
The Pearland facility owner is working with local authorities to resolve the matter.
