Thor: Love & Thunder will mark Hemsworth’s eighth time playing the God of Thunder in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The actor previously spoke about his training techniques for the film, saying, “This is probably the fittest and strongest I’ve been before any of Thors.” He said the key was learning not to overtrain for the role, as he had done in the past. “People who build muscle often don’t know that it’s a sport that shouldn’t be seven days a week, two hours a day. he explained.
Part of what motivated Hemsworth to hone his approach to training was the expectations associated with his MCU work after playing Thor since 2011.
