DENMARK – Voorhees College will officially open its new fitness center on November 18 at 11:00 a.m. at the Leonard E. Dawson Health and Human Resources Center during an inauguration ceremony.

Charlene Johnson, vice president, student affairs and director of sport, will lead the ceremony. Ronnie Hopkins, President of Voorhees, will make comments. The blessing and dedication of the fitness center will follow the explanations.

The following took part in the cutting of the ribbon with Hopkins and Johnson: Gerald Wright, Mayor of Denmark; Joshua Gayle, president of the Voorhees Student Union; and Calvin Williams, assistant professor of sports management, who will provide additional comments.

The new 800 square foot center includes strength training equipment, cardiovascular exercise equipment, medicine balls, multipurpose exercise equipment, and resistance bands. It is open to lecturers, staff and non-athletes (general population) of Voorhees.

Guests are invited to watch the ribbon cut and experience the new fitness center.
