World Health Day 2021: Every year on April 7th, the world celebrates World Health Day. The day is designed to ensure that everyone everywhere realizes the right to good health. In this article, let’s talk about diabetes which is widespread in India and the rest of the world. Diabetes is a chronic condition that occurs when your blood sugar is too high. Carbohydrates, fats, processed foods, and even natural sugars can all cause your blood sugar levels to rise. However, diabetes does not mean that a person needs to stop eating the foods that they enjoy.
Eating a healthy, balanced diet can help people with diabetes manage their condition and reduce their risk of heart disease, kidney disease, and other health complications. Uncontrolled diabetes can have many serious consequences. People with diabetes can eat most foods, but may need to eat some of them in smaller portions.
Postponing foods that raise your blood sugar levels and promote insulin resistance can help you stay healthy and reduce your risk of future diabetes complications.

World Health Day: Let’s take a look at the foods that people with diabetes should never include in their diet:
1. Fruit juices: Fruits are good for people with diabetes, but fruit juices are just as bad for them. Fruit juices can lose fiber and are loaded with fructose, which increases blood sugar levels.
2. Refined flour: Foods such as white bread, white rice, pasta, baked goods, and snacks made from refined flour should not be consumed by diabetics. Due to the high glycemic index and decreased brain function, they can cause high blood sugar, which can lead to psychological problems in diabetics. To be precise, fiber is needed to slow the absorption of sugar into the bloodstream, but refined flour is very low in fiber.
3.Preferred yogurt: We may think flavored yogurt is a great source of probiotics, but they’re not as healthy as you think. Most of the yogurts available today contain artificial flavors and are loaded with sugar.

4. Fried foods: Fried foods like french fries are high in carbohydrates. These foods raise blood sugar levels and thereby affect health in several ways.
5. Whole milk: Milk is a complete food because of its richness in nutrients. However, diabetics need to be careful with their intake of milk. You should refrain from using whole milk as it is high in saturated fat. Saturated fats can make insulin resistance worse. Instead, choose low-fat or skimmed milk versions.
Keep in mind that fighting off foods completely in diabetes can sometimes be difficult. However, understanding some guidelines can make it easier. The goal is to escape from unhealthy fats, liquid sugars, processed grains, and other foods that contain refined carbohydrates.
