Aviators have to meet some new requirements in order to meet the physical fitness requirements. As of January 1st, the following options apply:

* Cardio – either a traditional 1.5 mile run or a highly aerobic multi-shuffle run.

* Strength – traditional or hard pushups.

* Sit-ups – either traditional sit-ups, cross-leg reverse crunch, or plank.
Waist measurements will no longer be required, but Airmen must continue to “maintain healthy body composition to maintain physical readiness,” the service said.

“The changes to physical fitness ratings reflect our understanding and our desire to give Airmen additional flexibility in maintaining fitness standards,” said Lt. Gen. Brian Kelly, assistant chief of staff, personnel, and services.

From December 10th, pilots can plan their tests via myFitness.
