A study published in the National Institutes of Health of the US National Library of Medicine further examined virtual reality and interactive game technology for obese and diabetic children.
The Telemedicine and Advanced Technologies Research Center has pursued a number of technologies that may be applicable to the problems of managing obesity and diabetes, the study said.
It continued, “Technology in virtual reality (VR), interactive games, exergaming and mobile tools has advanced very rapidly.
“The medical community needs to reassess these technologies as they relate to obesity and diabetes.
“It is a relatively simple and achievable goal to explore creative ways to use and connect existing technologies for the management of obesity and diabetes.
“The key is the creativity that is applied to the task, with virtual reality exergaming possibly being the answer.”
