A DIRECTOR of a diabetes organization talked about how a free platform available to South Cumbrians can help him manage the disease.

The MyWay Diabetes website provides users with access to their diabetes health records as well as tailored advice to help them manage the condition.

It was created for people who live in South Cumbria and North Lancashire.

“I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes in February 2014 after feeling lethargy and thirsty,” said David Garrell, partner director at MyWay Digital Health.

“I registered with MyWay Diabetes and immediately saw a table of my own readings that gave me a visual representation of how far my blood sugar was from the healthy range.”

Mr Garrell said presenting the charts provided by MyWay Diabetes to his GP changed his diagnosis. He also uses the system to set personal goals.
