The start of a new year is always marked by commercials for diet programs, gym memberships, and more.
In our neighborhood there will be the premiere of a fitness studio at the beginning of 2022. It’s called the Fit Social Club and it opens on January 7th at the Mockingbird Station.
We mentioned it in an October roundup of tenants moving into the mall.
Mockingbird Station was a great location for the Fit Social Club due to its proximity to Uptown, SMU, East Dallas and Lakewood, Lake Highlands and Highland Park, the gym owners said in an email.
Fit Social Club was founded by Michael and Erin Vara, a married couple with more than 15 years of experience in the fitness industry. Michael was introduced to indoor cycling while studying and began his career in boutique fitness. Erin, who is from Plano, ran professionally for two years and was sponsored by Adidas and Brooks. After her retirement, she began working with young athletes across the Metroplex.

The couple had a studio in Uptown, but it closed in February 2021. After that, she and her trainers started taking pop-up courses in a variety of locations, including the Mockingbird Station. The Varas do not live in East Dallas, but some of their employees do.
Now the Fit Social Club will be there permanently, in Suite 192, which formerly housed Urban Outfitters, before moving to another suite.
There are three 45 minute class types available: Intensity, Cycling, and Ignition.
All course packages are available for 15% off January 7-9, and a raffle will be held to win free courses, gift cards, Dallas Mavericks tickets and more. On January 8th, StretchLab will host stretching sessions and Terlingua Coffee and Clean Juice products will be available.
