HARVEY, La. (WGNO) – On Thursday July 22nd, residents can enjoy the newly established outdoor fitness park in Woodmere.
The fitness area is free to the public. Jefferson Parish officials want the community to have the opportunity to receive safe and socially distant training.
The park offers training stations for residents to do strength and endurance training and to train all important muscle groups at the same time. It consists of outdoor fitness stations that should use your own body weight as resistance.
QR codes are attached to every fitness device, which guide residents through their movements to use the devices correctly.
Residents also have the option of using the nearby hiking trail.
“I am thrilled that this gym provides a safe and healthy outdoor fitness area that is accessible to all residents of different abilities,” said Jefferson Parish Councilman Byron L. Lee.
He added, “This is another example of our continued commitment to provide affordable health and wellbeing opportunities for residents of the Woodmere area.”
