Kuala Lumpur: Reversing pre-diabetes is definitely not impossible, says Prof. Dr. Chan Siew Pheng, President of the Malaysian Endocrine and Metabolic Society (MEMS) United Front Against Diabetes: Care In This Era And Beyond! “Dr. Chan said here today that recent research has shown that losing weight (with diet and lifestyle) can prevent pre-diabetic people from becoming diabetic. She also said that people with recently diagnosed type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) can also reverse their diabetes by losing 15 percent of their body weight.

This corresponds to approximately five million (5,019,359) adults; These people are at high risk of developing diabetes in the future.
