Romelu Lukaku returned to Chelsea’s training ground in Cobham on Sunday to continue his path of recovery from an ankle injury.

The 28-year-old has been sidelined with an ankle injury since mid-October after injuring himself against Malmö in the first half of Chelsea’s 4-0 Champions League victory on October 20.

Lukaku has since been paused as Thomas Tuchel did not want to put Lukaku’s return on a date.

Chelsea missed the Belgian international against Burnley before the international break, during which Lukaku will stay at the club for the two weeks.

Lukaku will have time to make sure he is fully fit again as Chelsea took him on Jan.

He posted an update on his recovery plan on Sunday with a four-word tweet.

“Let’s do this work,” he wrote on Twitter.

The Blues forward then posted later that afternoon after finishing his session at Cobham, adding, “Finished for today … time to go home and watch the rest of these games.”

Before Chelsea drew 1-1 with Burnley, Tuchel spoke of Lukaku’s return and confirmed her plans for the striker.

“We now have the international break, then we are clearer. We’ll use the time to see what’s going on in the second week of the international break. If you ask me the question, I can be more specific than I am now. We’ll use the break to have a treatment for him every day. “
