Decide to move with more confidence in 2021! With funds from the All-of-Us research program, the Scotch Plains Public Library is offering a weekly balance and fitness class live via Zoom under the guidance of instructor Yasmin Ofek. Classes take place on Fridays from 10 to April 2021.

Older adults in particular are encouraged to take these courses to help correct the loss of balance and strength that can occur in old age. Yasmin’s instructions integrate principles from the Feldenkrais Method, which focuses on conscious movement so that your nervous system can discover simpler and more efficient movement patterns. Combined with her deep knowledge of anatomy and her experience as a fitness trainer, Yasmin’s guidance can help you create a better connection between your brain and body while gently strengthening the muscles that keep your body upright.

All you need is a chair and sneakers to begin this gentle, yet effective, approach to moving around safely throughout your life!

Our newsletter delivers the local news that you can trust.

Live subtitles are available during the class to anyone who wishes to use this service.

Registration is required; For each class, please register online or call 908-322-5007, x204.
