Fitness trainers and gym owners say more people are returning to their company to workout as the vaccine rollout reaches more people.
“We haven’t seen the familiar faces we’ve seen for almost 10 years. We’re seeing those faces again, which is so beautiful that you can tell people are starting to feel more comfortable, ”said Abby Jennings, manager of System of Strength.
System of Strength offers a variety of strength and cardio classes to customers in central Ohio. It was one of many gyms that were closed for months at the start of the pandemic.
Since reopening last summer, the gym staff has taken various measures to keep customers safe.
Jennings said those measures included customers being 10 feet apart initially, staff severely disinfecting equipment, and customers wearing masks when entering and leaving the studio. Customers do not set up their training stations, but are put together for them by workers.
Jennings said she saw not only a return of old customers, but new customers who are fully vaccinated.
“They’re all starting to get these vaccines and it’s changing,” Jennings said.
Like many studios, System of Strength continues to offer digital workouts for those who feel uncomfortable going to the gym.
