Older adults from Middlesex County gathered at the Old Bridge Family YMCA to virtually celebrate National Senior Health and Fitness Day.

Working with the Senior Citizens Activities Network (SCAN) and the Ocean County YMCA, the all-day event held on Jan.

After surviving a long and isolating year in the pandemic, dozens of seniors got exercise on a swimming class, discovered ways to prevent frequent falls and manage stress, took a walk together, and enjoyed a healthy takeaway lunch from Fulfill.

More than 100 seniors, it said, attended the event at the Old Bridge YMCA and three other YMCA facilities in Monmouth and Ocean Counties.
