As part of the World Mental Health Day on Sunday, more than 2,100 Planet Fitness locations worldwide offer workouts and their patented HydroMassages free of charge, also for non-members.
“The pandemic has taken a huge mental and physical toll on everyone, and focusing on improving our general health and wellbeing should be a priority,” said Chris Rondeau, CEO of Planet Fitness, in a statement. “People often think primarily of the physical benefits of exercise, such as weight loss and muscle building, but underestimate the important mental health benefits such as less stress, more confidence and anxiety reduction. On World Mental Health Day this Sunday, we’re excited to encourage everyone to exercise, relax, and feel good at Planet Fitness. “
Planet Fitness said every gym in Massachusetts will be attending the event on Sunday.
Non-members can register at PlanetFitness.com/MentalHealthAwareness to take advantage of the limited-time offer.
Amid the pandemic, Planet Fitness has introduced disinfection of high-touch areas and cleaning stations every 20 minutes. Members can also use the Planet Fitness app, which has a “crowd meter” that shows members the capacity of a club in real time.
Planet Fitness HydroMassage is usually an exclusive benefit to its Black Card members.
The HydroMassage uses jets that move up and down the body with undulating currents of heated water. Users can select the exact points they want the massage to focus on, the massage pressure they want, and the speed of movement.
