The wellness initiative – Move Your Mood For Good – was launched by Snap Fitness Australia in partnership with the mental health nonprofit LIVIN to raise awareness and resources for mental health this October.

During Mental Health Month 2021, Australians are encouraged to set a goal of improving their moods and embracing the ways they enjoy positive lifestyle habits, such as walking away.

In support of the initiative, Snap Fitness events across Australia opened their doors to the public for a week from October 11-16, free of charge, subject to COVID restrictions.

As part of the fundraising initiative, the teams launched The Amazing Mood Chase, a MyZone-supported activation that encourages the general public across ANZ to register, fundraise and commit to their own wellness goal to sustainably improve their mood in October.

The Amazing Mood Chase is tailored for exercise in the gym and at home to remove all barriers and ensure everyone has the opportunity to easily move around and improve their mental wellbeing. Whether from the couch to the 5 km run, a personal best in the gym or the best of a home workout, it is open to everyone. MyZone Effort Point (MEPS), which was postponed later this week, is being pursued to encourage more people to change their mood for good.

Snap Fitness has a longstanding relationship with LIVIN and has been working with the nonprofit for two years. While life in lockdown is likely to have an impact on how much people can donate for many, this year Snap Fitness has asked people to get the word out and encourage their friends and family to get involved, while they can, too donate small amounts.

Snap Fitness chief executive Chris Caldwell explained the importance of starting the mental health conversation and getting more people involved in raising awareness, especially at a time when mental health is through state and statewide lockdowns “Physical and mental well-being go hand in hand. Times are undoubtedly difficult for all of us with the ongoing pandemic, so more than ever an opportunity for the fitness industry to educate people about what exercise can do to improve mental health applies to all fitness levels and abilities, and that’s what we’re trying to do with our Move Achieve Your Mood For Good Campaign.

“This Mental Health Month we want to get the word out as much as possible and get people to improve their moods to feel great! We understand that fundraising can be more difficult this year, but we know that it is still possible to raise much-needed funds for LIVIN. If each of our members across ANZ donated only $ 1, we could raise $ 214,000! Since we are open to both non-members and members, we hope that everyone will get involved to support an important cause. “

Casey Lyons, LIVIN’s Chief Executive, emphasizes the importance of taking care of yourself and taking proactive steps to take care of your mental health. “We are very excited to be partnering with Snap Fitness on their Move Your Mood For Good campaign. In the tough 12 months to go for Australians, we encourage everyone to take time on their mental health.

“Our partnership with Snap Fitness enables us to continue delivering our much-needed LIVINWell mental health education and stigma reduction program in schools across the country.”

With the community at the heart of the campaign, participants are encouraged to measure themselves through a closed Facebook group and are encouraged to share their progress with other guests. Eligible Entrants * will also be entered into the raffle to win a range of exciting prizes including a $ 500 Gift Certificate, $ 250 Lululemon Certificate, Headspace 6 Month Subscription + Gift Card $ 100 and Apple Air Pod Pros worth $ 399.
