1.3M bottles of dōTERRA important oils recalled

PLEASANT GROVE, Utah (ABC4) – A recall has been issued for over one million bottles of DōTERRA essential oils due to the risk of poisoning.

In total, 1.3 million bottles of Deep Blue Touch essential oils in the Utah-based dōTERRA packaging of the products are unsafe for children and pose a risk of poisoning if the contents are applied to the skin or swallowed by young children.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission says the bottles contain methyl salicylate, which the Poison Prevention Packaging Act requires in child-resistant packaging.

“The packaging of the products is not childproof and carries a risk of poisoning if the contents are applied to the skin or swallowed by young children,” said the recall notification dated April 1.
