Mason Mount is about to return to 100 percent fitness ahead of Chelsea’s Premier League clash against Manchester United on Sunday afternoon.
The 22-year-old is recovering from dental surgery after problems with his wisdom teeth. Mount has struggled in pain for months, which is why he missed out on Newcastle United when he was flying back to London on the day of the game.
Mount was supposed to compete against the Magpies, but felt “so uncomfortable” according to Athletic that he made his way home.
He’s been losing weight in the past few weeks from being unable to eat normally, but now the Blues have received a fitness boost ahead of their league game against United over the weekend.
The report goes on to say that insiders at the club believe the England international is now “getting closer to 100 percent”.

Mount was key to Chelsea and was instrumental in Tuchel’s success at the club.
He’s not yet in talks about a contract extension but the club are expected to start talks on a new contract in west London towards the end of the season.
The club is in no hurry as it prioritizes the future of the defensive quartet Andreas Christensen, Antonio RĂ¼diger, Cesar Azpilicueta and Thiago Silva.
