An initiative has been launched across Dorset to help people with diabetes become more active.

Diabetes UK is partnering with Sport England to encourage people with diabetes to get more exercise to manage their condition.

A dedicated physical activity line will be available to provide advice on daily exercise and weekly physical activity classes will be held online.

Phaedra Perry of Diabetes UK South West said: “We hope the people of Dorset will take this opportunity to learn more about the benefits of moving and make small changes to their activity.

“Many of us have felt anxious, concerned, and unable to remain active during the coronavirus pandemic. Introducing activities for a healthy body and mind has never been more important. ”

For the hotline and to register for the weekly Get Moving Classes, please contact helpline@diabetes.org.uk or call 0345 123 2399.
