MUSCATINE – Kent Nutrition Group has decided to start a collaboration to help veterans in the future.

This week, Kent Nutrition Group announced that it will partner with the Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) through its Sentinel-branded products to support former soldiers in need of equine therapy.

Kent began this collaboration with an initial investment of $ 100,000 for WWP. With this money, WWP will be able to expand its efforts to offer therapeutic riding lessons to horses that may be struggling with physical or emotional trauma.

This is the first time the Kent Nutrition Group has worked specifically with WWP, according to Mike Gauss, President of the Kent Nutrition Group, but he added, “We pride ourselves on employing many veterans and are constantly looking for ways to patriotic concerns to support.”

The two organizations began working together in July of that year when the Kent Nutrition Group first reached out to WWP for some of the nonprofit’s services. Gauss is already aware of WWP’s equine therapy program and sees it as both a great opportunity and a perfect complement.

“Just like us (WWP) were very happy about this partnership,” said Gauss. “We have heard stories from veterans going through the WWP equine therapy program and they say it is life changing. If Sentinel contributes even a small part through our partnership, it is amazing. “
