COURT HOUSE – Rutgers Cooperative Extension (RCE) of Cape May County’s Family and Community Health Sciences, Agriculture and Natural Resources Departments will host the Eat What You Grow: Pumpkins virtual workshop the 9th of September

According to a message from the organization, the free presentation will take place live via Zoom from 6 pm-7pm

The program will be presented by Chris Zellers, RCE FCHS Educator / Assistant Professor of Cape May County, and Jen Sawyer, ANR Commercial Agriculture Program Associate.

Zellers stated, “We are excited to offer this Eat What You Grow series that promotes healthy living and teaches how to grow healthy foods at home. Pumpkins are very popular in the autumn months and we hope to encourage them to use them with delicious preparation tips. “

The workshops in the series focus on specific types of vegetables and fruits and provide participants with nutritional information and preparation ideas while teaching how to grow tasty produce in a home garden.

This program deals with pumpkins by introducing the basics of growing them, providing information about the benefits and nutritional values ​​of pumpkins, and recipes that encourage their use in cooking or baking.
