The MSNBL was developed with input from experts and thought leaders in the global natural products industry to train and inspire current and future leaders to grow the industry through evidence-based and sustainable practices that safely, ethically and effectively improve the health and wellbeing of people and communities they serve. This unique program equips graduates with the essential evidence-based, nutritional and business knowledge and skills that add immediate value to their organization and career.

“We set out to develop a program that industry made for industry, and that is exactly what we did,” said Dr. Gena E. Up, DC, MS.MEdL, CNS, founding dean of the School of Nutrition of the SCNM. “The natural products industry is a multi-billion dollar industry serving the health care sector, and yet there have not yet been any graduate programs from accredited academic institutions to train executives in the sector. We couldn’t be more excited to offer this degree to develop evidence-based leaders who understand the unique needs of this industry and can take on leadership roles that impact the nutritional and nutritional supplement market. “

The program is aimed at executive-level professionals and trains students in nutritional science, supply chain, regulations, leadership and management – all specific to the health food and dietary supplement industries. Graduates are uniquely qualified to respond to the industry’s need for evidence-based executives who have a positive impact on the triple bottom line: social, environmental and financial.

The 39 credit program is offered in an online format and can be completed in less than 15 months. The program spans five quarters, with a weekend stay on campus, the Executive Leadership Experience, in the final quarter of the program.
