(Shenandoah) – A new store in Shenandoah is hoping to add some Christmas cheer with a customer recognition event on Saturday in July.

Shenandoah Nutrition opened its doors at Orchard Corners Shopping Center on Highway 59 in May. Melissa Hobbie says they offer healthy shakes and stimulating teas.

“We have Herbalife-based tea, we make healthy shakes and teas, high in protein and low in carbohydrates with lots of vitamins and nutrients,” Hobbie said. “They are super healthy and, I tell you, they are delicious.”

Hobbie says the company was founded to provide a healthy drink option for the community.

“I think everyone wants to improve their health and just have one healthy alternative,” Hobbie said. “There are ice cream, McDonald’s, and various options in town, but this offers a healthy alternative that doesn’t feel so guilty about walking in and having a shake or tea. I think everyone’s lifestyle is something healthier the end.”

Shenandoah Nutrition is similar to other healthy shakes and tea options that originated in KMAland. Doug Hobbie says it’s part of a larger movement in society looking for healthy alternatives.

“As health conscious as we have become in society today, we all know that it becomes expensive to buy healthy food,” Hobbie said. “Going to the store and buying organic is always expensive. This is a cheaper alternative and you still get the health benefits.”

Shenandoah Nutrition is hosting a customer recognition event on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Melissa Hobbie says the theme is Christmas in July.

“We’re doing a little fun theme that will be Christmas in July,” Hobbie said. “We’ll be decorating for Christmas. We’re going to have Christmas drinks and special door prices.”

Shenandoah Nutrition is open weekdays from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and on weekends from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information on all of the offers, please visit Shenandoah Nutrition’s Facebook page.
