Good to know
The center with the 7 Vegan Market will soon have even more plant-based offers, such as a vegan subshop.
7 Vegan Market
This new mini market is an oasis for vegans and offers shelves and refrigerators with exclusively plant-based foods. Some of the items, like Beyond Meat sausages and Miyokos cheese, are also available at mainstream grocery stores. But no OC supermarket can compete with the variety of plant-based offers: There are at least a dozen types of vegan jerky meat and a freezer full of oat and soy-based ice cream delicacies. 12048 Chapman Ave., Garden Grove, 714-591-5630
Loving hut
Plant-based versions of traditional Vietnamese, Thai, and Chinese dishes dominate this vegan restaurant’s menu. Guests visiting the simple but pretty room with potted orchids prefer Bánh Mí ($ 9), spring rolls ($ 6), fried rice ($ 9), and pad thai ($ 10) with it Tofu, vegan meat and lots of vegetables. But not only Asian cuisine: tacos, burgers and a BLT complete the offer. 12050 Chapman Ave., Garden Grove, 657-233-5780
Vegan pizza
This Italian restaurant has been attracting vegetarians and meat eaters alike since 2013. Gourmet pizzas ($ 10-22) feature plant-based meat and cheese in creative combinations; Regulars rave about Spicy Thai with basil, pineapple, onion and sausage. Calzones ($ 7-8), pasta dishes ($ 7-9), and entrees like Buffalo Wings and Cheese and Garlic Sticks ($ 6.50) are also tempting. 12022 Chapman Ave., Garden Grove, 714-750-8686
