Students in Ms. Askinazy’s nutrition classes at North Babylon High School collected radishes for donation to the Bulldog Cupboard, the district’s pantry. The radishes mark the first harvest of the season and are part of an ongoing project in which the students of human nutrition are participating. Earlier this year, students planned a garden plot and began planting seeds in raised beds in high school. They also created nutritional profiles of the products they grow while also coming up with healthy recipes. The project helps provide community members and families in need with fresh produce.
